Private car, guide and interpreter in China
Private car and driver
In mainland China a private car means a vehicle with a driver, sized to the party and the luggage. It is not a self-drive rental, and this page does not list rates.

When a car is the right ask
Use it when the sights are far apart, when you land with luggage, or when a train would cost you the morning. The Forbidden City to a Great Wall section, Guilin to Yangshuo, or a cruise terminal on the wrong side of a river are car jobs.
Skip it when the day is a walkable neighborhood and what you really need is a guide. Say so, and we will not put you in traffic for the sake of a vehicle.
What to send
City, dates, party size, and the language you want with the driver or with a guide in the car. Add flight numbers if you want an airport meet, the hotel area, and how many large bags you have.
- Children, elders, or anyone who should not do long stairs
- Intercity days, and whether it is a round trip or a one-way drop
- A ship terminal, a factory gate, or a timed entry you already hold
How the match works
China On Call reads the brief and replies on WhatsApp with a plan and a quote. Hours, distance, season, and waiting time change the number, which is why it is not printed here. Nothing is confirmed until you agree.
Hong Kong and Macau are outside this service. For Lhasa and some Xinjiang routes, permits and arrangements apply; we confirm the current rules when you enquire.
Questions
Is the driver a guide?
No. A driver drives. If you want the sites explained, ask for a guide in the same brief. Some days one person can ride with you; we will say so when that is the plan.
Can you meet a flight?
Yes. Send the flight number, the airport, and the number of bags. If the flight moves, tell us in the same WhatsApp thread.
Do you show a daily rate?
No. The coordinator quotes after the brief. A short city hop and a mountain day are not the same job.
Can I name a city that has no page yet?
Yes, if it is in mainland China. The published pages are a reading list, not a fence.
From the how-to notes
These pages say what to send. They do not list a rate.
